01 / Context
The Underperforming Asset
Il Gabbiano is a premier restaurant on the shores of Lake Iseo. However, their previous website didn't reflect the quality of their service. It was visually dated, slow to load, and critically, it failed to convert visitors into diners.
SEO visibility was nearly non-existent, and the reservation process was buried under friction. For a business that relies heavily on "high-intent" organic search (people looking for lunch or dinner nearby), the digital bottleneck was costing them real revenue.

Move from a "bad-looking" brochure site to a performance-optimized conversion tool that captures local search intent and provides immediate lakeside context.

The Zero-Framework Advantage
For a landing page of this scale, modern frameworks like React or Angular were unnecessary overhead. I chose a pure HTML/CSS/JS approach to prioritize absolute performance and SEO hygiene.
By stripping away the virtual DOM and external dependency trees, we achieved sub-second "Time to Interactive" on mobile devices, even in low-reception lakeside areas.

The Lakeside Helper
Since the restaurant is situated directly on the shore, the weather is the primary decision-maker for potential guests. To reduce cognitive load, I integrated a custom weather widget using the OpenWeather API.
This "helper" provides a 5-day forecast directly on the landing page, allowing users to make an informed decision without leaving the site to check their weather app.
Real-time lakeside conditions displayed at the point of decision.

By focusing on absolute speed and high-relevance contextual features, Il Gabbiano saw an immediate lift in organic search visibility and a significant increase in reservations via WhatsApp. Built as the sole technical partner, owning UX strategy and implementation.
